Via County Road 37: As you drive along County Road 37 alongside Lake Tinn and approach Rjukan, turn left at Dale following the signs for Gaustatoppen. The final stretch up the mountain is steep. In winter, it can be slippery with challenging driving conditions. If your vehicle does not have four-wheel drive and/or studded tires, we recommend using tire chains. Via County Road 651: During the summer, you can take the road through Tuddal and Gaustaråen, then drive the final part across the high plateau. This route offers beautiful scenery across the high plateau and allows you to get very close to Gaustatoppen. Please note that the road through Tuddal is closed during the winter."
